HR-006:FRIDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING
Departments may choose to close on the Friday after Thanksgiving if there are no regular operating needs that must be met on that day. If a department closes or operates a "skeleton" operation on the Friday after Thanksgiving, staff should be given the option to use an accrued vacation day, an accrued but unused holiday (if they worked on a previous holiday within 90 days), a personal day (if available), or hourly-paid staff may take time off without pay if no accrual balance is available.

There may be times when some of the Libraries are open on any of these days or the days that the University observes as the Holiday (such as when the Holiday falls on a weekend.) As some teams in Resource Services may be required to have minimal staffing while others may not, it may be an option to close one team within RS while others remain open. Supervisors may also work with staff to make additional arrangements as needed.
