MANAGEMENT MEETING 9/3/02

PRESENT: Flo Wilson, Jody Combs, Mary Ellen Wilson, Roberta Winjum, Peggy Earheart, Sue Davis, Zora Breeding, Pat Johnson.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: OCLC Representative Deborah Brown will be here visiting on Sept. 18^th at 3:00. Flo passed around a handout from a book called “Team Games & Activities”. In it are some ideas for Team Building Activities.

STAFF EVENT: The Library Service Awards will be on October 3^rd at the University Club form 3:00 – 5:00. Details will be in the Sept. 4^th Newsletter.

LibQUAL SURVEY: Flo had handouts of charts and information. The results were discussed for strengths and weaknesses. Also the results will be posted on the Web.

RS WEB PAGES: Flo was very complimentary of the new Technical Services Web Pages. The new Web Page should be up by Friday, Sept. 6^th. Flo then asked if we should take a look at the RS Web Page. What do we want the RS page to say? Should we have a Task Force to redo it? Flo will ask someone to chair this Task Force.

BUILDING ACCESS TASK FORCE REPORT: Flo will prepare a response to the issues listed in the report from BATF. Hours listed here are really guidelines, but with permission of Team Leaders you may adjust these hours. The first set of recommendations listed in the BATF report, have been covered. If any Team Leader has suggestions for this statement, please send to Flo soon.

STAFF SATISFACTION SURVEY: The action item steps were discussed. On Item 37 most Action Steps were deferred till the next meeting, except step #4, which will need a Task Force. The whole Item 41 was deferred to the next meeting. Teams are to continue looking for ways to interact with each other.

MISCELLANEOUS: Management Team will develop a policy statement. Roberta has a statement regarding the New Horizons classed and will expand on that. Read our Goals & Mission Statement to see if we need to update.

TEAM MEETING: The next meeting will be on October 1^st at 10:30 in the Baker Conference Room.
