Care and Handling:
Handle non-book media as little as necessary. Keep hands as clean as possible clean while handling. Keep dirt, dust, and grease away from all media. Do not lay floppy disks or video tapes near computer monitor, telephone, or other magnetic field source while cataloging. Handle microfilm and microfiche by the edges only. Handle CDs and DVDs by outer edge or center hole only. If must clean mifilm, blot gently with clean cloth. If must clean CD/DVD, remove dirt/fingerprints, smudges, and liquids by wiping with a clean cloth in straight line from center of disk toward outer edge; do not wipe in circles.

Delivery:
Non-book media requires protective housing. If the item doesn't have any when it arrives in cataloging, try to supply it. Envelopes for floppies and jewel cases for CDs are available in Cataloging. Fiche envelopes are available in Binding/Marking. Consult Book Repair if special housing is required, especially if there is mixed media associated with the item.
Use appropriate mailing containers when delivering floppies, videotapes, CDs, DVDs, etc.. Whether you hand deliver or send via library messengers depends upon your arrangement with the destination library. Either bring the mailing containers back with you or ask that they be returned to TSGLB for reuse.
