CHANGING MCAFEE VIRUS SCAN ON-ACCESS SCAN PROPERTIES SETTINGS

Follow the instructions below to change the On-Access Scan properties settings for each workstation using the Java WorkFlows client. This will reduce the time it takes for it to open.
  1. Right-click on the McAfee Virus Scan On-Access Scan shield icon in your system tray.
  2. Select On-Access Scan Properties from the context menu that appears.

  3. Select the All Processes icon in the left column of the resulting VirusScan On-Access Scan Properties window.

  4. Select the Detection tab (see below).
  5. Under "What not to scan," select the Exclusions button.

  6. On the Set Exclusions window, select the Add button.

  7. On the Add Exclusion Item window, either paste or type in the following path C:\Program Files\SirsiJava into the field next to the Browse button. OR you can click on Browse, navigate to C:\Program Files\SirsiJava under My Computer, single click on this folder, and click OK. The path should appear in the "By name/location" field in the Add Exclusion Item window
  8. Under the "By name/location" field, check "Also exclude subfolders."

  9. Under "When to exclude," check both the "On write" and "On read" boxes. Then click OK.

  10. On the Set Exclusions window. The window should appear as below. Click OK.

  11. On the VirusScan On-Access Scan Properties window click Apply, then click OK.
