WorkFlows GL 3.1: FAQ: How to Configure a Receipt Printer
Return to: WorkFlows GL 3.1 Implementation
Configuring a Receipt Printer in the WorkFlows Java Client
- From the menu bar, click on Preference, move the cursor to Peripherals, and then select Receipt Printer.
- In the configuration window that appears, change settings so that they match the settings shown below. (If you want the option of selecting a different printer each time a slip prints also check the Display receipt printer dialog box)
- In order for the receipts to print, properties must be activated in each wizard or helper from which you expect a receipt to print and some text must be present in the fields. To set these properties, right click on a wizard, such as Discharge. From the shortcut menu, select properties.
- Put a check in the box next to the type of slip you want to print. This will activate the button next to the box, which allows you to click on it.
- After clicking on the button, you will be able to set defaults for receipt printing by clicking on the gadgets and setting header text, selecting receipt fields to printout, and footer text. To set header or footer text, click on the gadget next to that field. In the pop-up window that appears next, enter the header or footer text you would like printed on the receipt in the ENTER STRING field and then click on the Add button at the bottom of the window. When all lines of text have been added, click Save.
- Now click on the gadget next to the Receipt fields box. To select entries you would like to print on the slip, click on each from the "List to Choose From" side and then click on the blue arrow pointing to the "List Selected" box to move that entry over. Once the entry appears on the "List Selected" it will print on the receipt slip. To remove an entry from the "List Selected", click on it in the list to highlight it and click on the blue arrow facing left to move it out of the list. You may select multiple entries by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking entries with the mouse. Note: The order in which you select the fields will be the order that they print on the receipt slip so you may want to move them one at a time.
- Click OK until you have exited the properties window. Be sure to save properties at the prompt when closing WorkFlows.
The following wizards are known to contain receipt slip options. If a helper exists in another wizard that performs the same function as the wizard listed below, it too will need to be configured.
