Time Allocation Study Purpose:
The several participating library operations are interested in better understanding time allocations for the various functions within their operations and across the library. Through periodic samplings of time, we expect to have improved information on which we might base discussions and decisions on staffing and other resource allocations, according to our overall service and collection priorities.
We are also interested in gathering data that we can compare with other institutions. In this Staff Time Allocation Study effort we are working with Notre Dame, using the methodology originally developed by Dilys Morris at Iowa State.
