Guidelines for Running reports on Acorn

  1. If you are planning to run a report that you have never run before, please let us know so that we can try to determine how long it will run and schedule it appropriately. For reports relating to cataloging or authorities, contact Nancy by email or at 2-7125. For circulation, reserve, or bibliographic reports contact Suellen by email or 3-4427. For customized reports, please contact Nancy or Dale by email or at 3-5388. If any of the three contact people are unavailable, coverage will still be provided, so please feel free to contact any of us, or call Judy at 2-7073.
  2. For assistance creating reports, please send a request to NETFIX

  3. If you are going to run a report that you know or expect to take longer than 30 minutes, please contact Dale, Nancy, or Suellen. It is important to determine whether it will interfere with reports that are already scheduled.

  4. If you know that the report you are going to run takes less than 30 minutes, you can go ahead and run it.

  5. Reports should not run any time after 5:00 pm and before 8:30 am the next morning. This means that all reports should have finished before 5:00 PM as well.

  6. If you have reports that you want to schedule any time after 5:00 PM and before 8:30 am the next morning contact Dale, Nancy, or Suellen to be sure that the report will not conflict with daily system reports.

  7. In order to keep from using up too much file space, reports should be deleted regularly from the finished report list. Although reports are backed up daily at 3:000 am, it is possible to delete a report before it has been backed up. It is therefore recommended that you leave reports on the finished reports list for one day and delete them the following day.

  8. If a report is scheduled outside of these guidelines and is interfering with the system it may be terminated.
