CD-ROM Servers

in the Heard Library

Many of the information sources offered by the libraries reside on CD-ROM discs. The library maintains four CD-ROM servers that provide access to these products for library users and staff. The public access computers in most of the libraries offer access to a variety of CD-ROM-based products in addition to Acorn, Netscape, and other information sources. For most of the CD-ROM products, users load the search software from a file server and access the data from a CD-ROM server.
