NOTES:

Software for accessing Acorn, Pegasus Mail, web browsers, telnet, and ftp are available at no charge to all staff (with supervisor approval). License fees must be paid for programs such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Contact Jody Combs for more information on license fees and software available on the library networks.

If the person is replacing a recently vacated position, we can use information from the previous position to build the account for the new person. If we need to set up a new ID, we'll need to know all the functions the person needs access to. Security and policy information can be copied from one ACORN account to another, so let us know if the new person needs to be able to do all the things another person currently does.

Please give Library Technology as much lead time as possible when adding new staff. It may take 2-3 days before everything is ready for the new person to use the network.
