As previously announced, the Network Design and Engineering (ND&E) team of Academic Computing and Information Services made a major change on the campus network. The campus network now routes TCP/IP based information among a large number of sub-networks rather than treating the campus network as a single large network as it was previously configured. With the implementation of routing, the campus network should have the capability to handle larger volumes of data and be less susceptible to several types of problems.
It appears that the transition went well. We are not aware of any remaining problems related to this change.
Thanks to the staff of the ND&E team of ACIS for their hard work in making this necessary and beneficial change.
Please direct any questions or concerns about this change to the campus network to Marshall.
