Access restrictions Unrestricted resources can be accessed by any person with a computer connected to the Internet. Restricted resources may be accessed only by individuals affiliated with Vanderbilt, including those with a computer connected to the campus network or those that connect remotely through Vanderbilt's dial-in facilities, or those that connect through the VU Proxy Server. Most resources have no access restrictions. Folders can be created for Web pages that can be accessed only from library computers if needed.
Who is allowed to create and modify documents on this server? Changes to the main Heard Library environment are accomplished though John Haar or the the Information Services Advisory Group. Changes to divisional public web pages are managed by each division. Any library committee or workgroup can have a folder created for their use. Individual library staff or other groups can have a folder designated for their use with the appropriate Division Director's approval.

Security and Access issues related to placing file on the server To place files on this server you must be authorized by your Division Director to have a Unix account created for you by LTT. A separate username and password is required. Access will be limited to the specific subdirectory. Access to the StaffWeb folder is controlled by the library's network environment. No separate username and password is required. LTT will create and grant access to StaffWeb folders as needed. New StaffWeb resources must be approved by the appropriate Division Director.
