Library Management Council

The Library Management Council is composed of the University Librarian, the Deputy University Librarian, the Associate University Librarian, the Assistant University Librarian, the Library Directors, the Director of Administrative Services, the Director for Innovative Technologies and Research, and the Director of Communcations and Development. Meetings are scheduled monthly to discuss issues of concern to the Jean and Alexander Heard Library.
The LMC advises the University Librarian on budget and policy issues. In consultation with the University Librarian, the group is also charged with the formulation of strategic plans and setting goals and objectives for the library system. Because of these duties, the designation of substitutes to attend meetings is not permitted.
The following five standing committees are appointed by and report to the LMC: Cataloging and Authorities Advisory Group, Circulation Advisory Group, Collection Development Advisory Group, Information Services Advisory Group, and Staff Development Coordinating Committee. In addition, a Strategic Planning Committee, composed of selected LMC members, is appointed and chaired by the University Librarian.
The University Librarian serves as chair of LMC and the Director of Communications and Development serves as secretary.
