TechForce Meeting Summary

Jan. 22, 2003

Meeting Summaries
We decided that we should begin generating summaries of our meetings. Roberta will use the agenda and add a sentence or two to describe our discussion. The summaries will be added to the TS web pages the link e-mailed to TS staff. Questions about these summaries can be directed to team leaders.

Formerly RS Policies
Mary Ellen has been working to update the policies from RS with TS information and repost them to our web pages. She has revised and re-linked the Holidays and Release Time policies, and will finish the Telecommuting and Building Access policies once she has spoken with Flo and LITS.

The TechForce will look at other RS documents by the end of this fiscal year. At our next meeting we will discuss a mission statement. Updating job descriptions was also mentioned as a possible and much needed future task.

Annex procedures/Annex visit
Roberta will schedule with Peg for sometime in Feb. or Mar. We will come up with questions we would like to ask beforehand.

Maintenance/statistics keeping
Maintenance statistics are kept in a separate spreadsheet for reporting to ARL. Sometime in the future Zora and Linda will determine whether there is a better way to generate these, and whether any other stats are needed.

Announcements
OS: Work is up-to-date. Not many orders are coming in.
CAT: The LC copy shelves are down to one month's backlog, following intense efforts of the LA's. CAT will be creating links in Acorn for some University of California at Berkeley e-books. We seem to be getting a lot of French books.
Pres: The holidays, year-end periodical binding, and CAT's LC books are creating a lot of work in Preservation. On a different note, Heckman Bindery is beta testing its ILS interface software.
