Fascicles/Leiferungs
Booksets that come in Fascicles or Lieferungs (or their counterparts in any
other language) For booksets that are issued in parts with the intent of the
publisher to provide a binder and often a collective title page when all parts
have been published -- the following procedures will be followed:
- The piece will get barcoded and an item record ("call/copy" record in Sirsi-speak)
will be created.
- A "Do Not Bind" flag will be inserted.
- It will get marked and go to the stacks (or appropriate location for the
title).
- It will be added to holdings in a separate 866 field with a delimiter z
Unbound note added.
- When the Binder arrives, the pieces will be collected and bound (it is the
choice of the library whether to use the binder provided or our commercial
bindery -- especially if the provided binder is of poor quality)
- The items ("call/copy" records) for the individual pieces will be deleted
and one item will be linked for the full volume.
- The holdings will be updated to add the full volume to the holdings and
the unbound holdings deleted.
