Requester: When there is a requester in the order who has asked to be notified when the book is cataloged (PATRON REQUEST), the requester’s name should appear in parentheses after the fund code, followed by an asterisk, eg. "(WILLIAMSON*)". This same format should be used when it is the bibliographer that has asked to be notified when the title is cataloged, eg. "BOYER; 0300; (BOYER*)". See below for additional examples.
If the requester has not asked to be notified, but has only asked that their name be added to the record, the requester's name should also appear in parentheses after the fund code, followed by XN, eg. "(THOMPSON-XN)". (It is generally the bibliographer that asks for a patron or faculty members name to be added to the record in this case.)
NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ADD A REQUESTER'S SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO THE RECORD IN EITHER THE BIB RECORD OR THE ORDER RECORD; IF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS NEEDED TO IDENTIFY THE REQUESTER, THE PHONE NUMBER MAY BE USED IF AVAILABLE.
For added volumes, idents, etc, verifiers initials and the date appear at the end of the 952 field (xxx; MMDDYYYY).
For example: 952: BIBLIOGRAPHER; FUND; HOLDING CODE; NOTES;
