Bibliographers now have the option of creating Lists within Collection Manager for Order Services to use for ordering. Upon completion of a List, the bibliographer will send an e-mail to RSORDERS to let OS know that their titles are ready to order. In this e-mail, they will cite the name of the CM List.
Upon receipt of the e-mail, OS will call up the list, print it, date it, and count the titles for the monthly statistics. The printed list is then placed in the appropriate slot for further verification.
The verifier may work solely from the printed list, or may display the list within Collection Manager.
To view the List within CM, go to the Main Menu, and select "Lists". Under the List Menu, select Personal Lists. Locate the specific list by the name given in the e-mail; clicking on the name of that list will display the entire list of titles.
To work from the list:
By "tagging" all the titles in the list, it will be easier to re-list the titles as you work (click on "Tag all titles" in the top menu); at any point, you can then re-create the list by selecting "List all Tagged Titles".
After checking the list for possible duplication in Acorn, review each title to verify that the most appropriate edition is being ordered. In addition to the Paper vs Cloth choice, it is generally preferably to order the US edition over the UK when both are available.
(When selecting a different edition from what originally appeared on the bibliographer's list, call up the title in a new search; with all editions displayed, you may remove the "tag" from one edition and "tag" the more appropriate edition.)
After selecting among the most appropriate editions, you may re-display the list using "List all tagged titles". With all titles displayed, you may use the "Order All" selection to order all titles at once, or you may use the "Order" selection under each title to order each title individually. Titles may then be queued for Export.
(If, after completing all of your work on the list, the "tags" still appear, you may use the "Untag all" choice in the top menu to remove all of the "tags". The "tags" will remain on the titles until you take a group action, such as "Order All", or "Export All". If these actions are done on individual titles instead, you will need to "Untag" them.)
