Ordering Paper vs Hardcover

Hardcover is preferred for the Arts Collection.

Central:

Paper is preferred over Hardcover, particularly when there is a significant price difference . If it is not readily evident that a paperback exists, hardcover may be ordered.

Divinity:

Paper is preferred over Hardcover

Music:

Order the edition requested

Management:

Order the edition requested

Peabody:

Order the edition requested

Science/Engineering:

Paper is preferred over Hardcover, particularly when there is a significant price difference. If it is not readily evident that a paperback exists, hardcover may be ordered.

It should also be noted in all cases that the bibliographer may indicate that they specifically want one edition over another (ex. "order paper only", etc.). In this case we order the specific edition requested, and add a note to the 952 to indicate "ORDER PAPER ONLY", etc.)
