Search TSWeb:

Serials "PUBID" project

There is a new field in the Extended Info section of the order record called "PUBID". This field is to be used ONLY for this project. It is not to be used for any other information. This field helps us to identify groups of orders for Collections Development purposes.

The Project:

We have several lists of titles by specific publishers (Blackwell, Oxford UP, ECO, Wiley, Kluwer, and Springer). Entering this publisher name into the order record allows us to run reports to identify all of these titles for special pricing, etc.

  1. Call up the record for the title using title or ISSN. Confirm that you have the correct PRINT* title. (Many of these may also have electronic versions.)
  2. Using Item Search and Display, go to the Orders tab. Click on 2004 Line 1.
  3. Call up the order using Edit Order. Tab down to the PUBID field in Extended Info.
  4. Enter the Publisher Identification exactly as it appears on your list. This information must be consistent so that we may retrieve these records using Acorn reports. (Use Paste for accuracy.)
  5. <Enter> and close the order.
  6. When you have completed the list, please return the list to Mary Ellen.

*The Search Results screen may clearly indicate whether the title is the electronic version:

Some Search Result screens are not so clear:
