- Collections Development
will send Morris Wachs book boxes (from the W.T. Bandy Center) to Baker, attention
Mary Ellen Wilson.
- Verifiers will check Wachs
books against Acorn for duplication.
- Titles that do not
duplicate and different editions should be added for Central Stacks.
- If title is in BAUD
or PASCAL-PIA only, add to Central Stacks.
- Duplicates with over
10 charges can be added.
- If the book is signed
or if you have any questions as to whether to add, please contact Yvonne
Boyer for a decision.
- For each record: Holding
Code: CEN; Item Cat1:34-FR-ITAL; Item Cat2: GIFT; and add 541: Wachs
- Make
current location: BAKER HOLD
- Duplicates, not to
be added, should be returned to Bryan K. in Collection Development. Add
a flag with note: "Dup of (Acorn Number) and number of charges of
the original copy. Please keep the Wachs books separate (do not mix with
other duplicates, gifts, or other collections), and return in the original
box, labeled Wachs Collection.
- Pieces may be speed
cataloged and routed to Binding/Marking if appropriate.

Physical
Processing:
- Barcodes
should be attached to the pieces before routing as in other monographs.
Check with Chris W. about periodicals and serials. The special Wachs bookplate
should be clipped carefully inside the piece, and a Wachs Collection flag
should also be inserted. MC or NC pieces should be placed on the appropriate
shelf in the approval room for cataloger review. LC or CC pieces can be
routed to the copy catalogers.
Verifier: Use discretion regarding
the following:

Condition (if in doubt, check with Sue Davis/ Preservation)

Graphics or artwork, or interesting binding (that might make
the material more suitable for Special Collections)
·
Age of book (also suitable for Special Collections)
