After Chinese language materials are cataloged by Yuh-Fen, Charlotte will sort these materials for Binding and Marking. If necessary, Yuh-Fen will specify where to put the call number on the spine.
MARKING
Charlotte will flag items going straight to Marking with a Do Not Bind flag and place on the Marking truck. Marking staff will charge the materials to Marking.
BINDING
Charlotte will sort by binding type (custom, copicover, copicover with glued flaps, etc.) and flag with special instructions, such as do not trim, cover foldouts, sew through folds.
Books will be batched according to the binding decision, charged to the bindery, and delivered to Sheranda.
Since the bindery should not generate title labels for these books, they will be sent in a separate job from the rest of the monographs.
After custom bound books are returned from the bindery and inside work is completed, Charlotte will generate title labels in Chinese characters and attach them to the spines. Copicover Chinese volumes can be processed as other copicover volumes keeping in mind any special instructions about call number placement.
Books will be returned to Central Circ. at the end of month from Book Repair.
