Process for Receving Monographs Returned From ICI-MAB Bindery


1. Unbox Volumes

A. 2 choices
· Unbox everything on to shelving in the cage by B#
· Unbox one truck at a time and bring upstairs (will usually only be one B# per truck)

2. Pull Paper Files For The B# on Truck From Drawer containing shipment folders and Place in File Box

3. Mylared Titles (Clear Laminated Covers), Copi-Covered (Reproduced and Mounted Covers) & Pam Bind Titles (Blue Board w/clear Plastic Cover)

A. Look for stamped number on title page
B. Find corresponding file
C. Compare barcode in file with barcode on back cover of book
D. If barcodes match, attach one to inside front cover centered at top
E. Property stamp or glue in book plate and attach date due slip
F. Charge to Marking (will need override F9 in Unicorn WorkFlows)
G. After finishing entire truck, get Marking slip and number for Ann for next truck. Cross out stripping, gluing and stamping lines on slip, so that Ann knows truck is ready for labels.

4. Custom Bound and Economy Titles (Multi Colored Buckram)

A. Look at binding slip in front of book for item number
B. Find corresponding file in folders
C. Compare print on spine of book with print out in file for errors. If errors, return to Machelle for return to the bindery. If no errors, continue
D. Attach barcodes - one to front inside cover centered at the top and one on back cover parallel to spine at the top of book
E. Property stamp or glue in book plate and attach date due slip
F. Charge to Marking (will need override F9)
G. After finishing entire truck, get Marking slip and number from Ann for next truck. Cross out stripping, gluing and stamping lines on slip, so that Ann knows truck is ready for labels.
