Sorting Deliveries to Binding/Marking

Check the mail table twice a day. Boxes from Baker arrive Monday thru Friday, usually between 9:00 to 9:30 in the morning and again in the afternoon around 3:00PM. Open boxes labeled Binding and Marking as well as those marked Attention Karen Pillow, Binding and Marking. Unpack and distribute materials according to the following list. Empty boxes should be put in the large, rolling wire cart across from the mail area for recycling.

Level 1--RUSH and Patron Requests go to RUSH shelf
Level 2/Reference--load on a separate book truck and deliver to Annie. If it's only a few volumes, place them on Annie's desk.
Paperback books from Baker--load on a truck outside Sheranda's workstation and label with Baker/date
Paperback books from catalogers on monograph unbound shelf--load on same truck as paperbacks from Baker outside Sheranda's workstation and label with GLB/date.
Regular hardback books from Baker--Place on truck, put on marking shelves in back room, and label shelf with charge date/due date.
Unbound Serials from Baker arrive in a box marked Attention: Karen Pillow, Binding and Marking. Put unbounds on book truck and give to Annie. If it's only a few volumes, place them on Annie's desk.

Exception: When unbound serials come in that say Bind Economy, Bind Custom, Mylar Bind, etc. pull them and give to Sheranda.
White plastic tubs from Central Circulation contain either monographs needing binding or new spine labels. Karen and/or Sheranda sort and distribute on trucks according to category. Karen gets the relabels and Sheranda gets the items headed to the bindery.
