Processing for Level 2: These materials require priority processing through all TS processing points.
Our goal for the processing of these materials is to have them discharged from TS within 5 - 7 days of the receipt of the materials (unless materials are sent to the bindery).
- Bibliographers:
- Bibliographers will note on the request that the order is Level 2 Priority.
- If the bibliographer desires the requester's name to be entered into the record, but they are not to be notified, the bibliographer should include the requester's name, and check the "add name but do not notify" box.
- Orders may be submitted by e-mail or campus mail.
- Verification:
- On receipt in OS, requests will be dated and placed in the appropriate bin in Verification. These requests will be processed within 24 hours by Verification, and placed in the RUSH bin. See "Manually processing an order request" for further instructions on noting the bibliographic record.
- Ordering:
Orders for Level 2 are given priority processing in OS.
- For Leisure Reading materials, OS has set up a special account with Ingram, and the materials are shipped to OS pre-processed according to the current LRC profile with Ingram (see procedure).
- For Reference and other Level 2 materials, orders may be placed direct when appropriate, and are given corresponding claim periods.
- Receiving:
Materials are given priority processing in OS, and are generally processed the day they are received.
- LRC materials speed cataloged in OS will be charged and sent directly to Central Circulation by the receiver.
- Reference and other Level 2 materials speed cataloged in OS will be flagged appropriately, and put on the Level 2 Marking shelf in the mailroom. Mailroom Maintenance (Dennis) will charge to Rush Marking, but box separately from Level 1 materials. Boxes should be dated and marked "Level 2", Marking.
- Uncataloged materials should be appropriately flagged and placed on the Level 2, Cataloging shelf in the mailroom, not on the Cataloger's Review Shelves. Books should be charged by Mailroom Maintenance (Dennis) to Rush Cataloging, but boxed separately from Level 1 materials. Boxes should be dated and marked "Level 2", Cataloging.
- NOTE: Divinity and Music materials (which are not cataloged by TS) should be sent directly to the cataloger in that library, appropriately charged and flagged; boxes should be dated and marked "Level 2".
- Cataloging:
- Cataloging will process LRC materials within 3-5 days, and deliver directly to Central Circulation.
- Cataloging will process Reference and other Level 2 materials within 3-5 days, and route materials to either Marking rush shelf or Binding, as appropriate.
- Marking:
- Level 2 materials are marked daily.
