Color Coded Flags

During technical processing flags of various colors are inserted into material, usually by Order Services, to designate the library destination and/or special instructions/information for/about the piece. Most of these flags remain with the piece throughout its RS journey.

Flag Colors (Destination Library)

DARK GREEN = Divinity Library

BROWN = Peabody Library

PINK = Peabody, Youth Collection

LIGHT BLUE = Engineering Collection (Science Library)

ORANGE = Management Library

DARK BLUE = Music Library

RED = Science Library

WHITE = Special Collections, Reference, Arts (Specific location is hand written on flag)

YELLOW = LC copy

GREEN = Copy Cataloging

PURPLE = RUSH

CHARTREUSE = Series information

MINT GREEN = 0300 Fund binding instructions

WHITE = Priority (or other hand written instructions/information)
