May 2001 Meeting Summary
There was no meeting in May 2001. However, the following was distributed via e-mail to the SDCC members:
Lisa Shipman reports that she received a call from Kimberly Freeman of Impact
Training. Impact Training does a presentation called "Staying Safe In Today's
World". Highlights of the hour- long session include:
This session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 27th at 11:30 am in 612A GLB
Classroom. Lisa will be e-mailing staff a survey so the presenter can target
areas of concern during the session.
Library Staff Event
T he library's annual staff event will be held the evening of Tuesday, June
26 at Percy Warner Park. Back by popular demand is food from the Calypso Cafe
and our usual range of fabulous door prizes. Invitations with more details will
be mailed to all staff shortly. Elaine Goleski and Debra Stephens are coordinating
arrangements and they are in need of volunteers to assist them. Please consider
helping them out, if your schedule permits. If you'd like to help, contact Elaine
(3-4701) or Debra (2-4905).
Staff Forum
The the 2001 Library Staff Forum will be held on July 19. A panel discussion involving library staff will be the format and will be discussing issues regarding the Library's Strategic Plan. Staff will be able to submit questions beforehand from the Forum's website and they will be answered during the session.
Information Alliance
Mary Beth reported that the Information Alliance Spring meeting would be held on May 30th at Cumberland Falls State Park in Jamestown, Kentucky. One session will be on the topic of Virtual Reference. Another topic is being debated. The organizers are hoping that is will be a topic from the technical services point of view. Agendas will be sent out as more information is available. Attendees are encouraged to set up meetings with counterparts from the other Alliance universities.
