Staff Development Coordinating Committee

During April, work continued on the glossary update, technology training, and the staff awards program. The technology training program will probably follow the same model as the NT training program. Suellen will be the Library Technology Training Coordinator. The committee assisted Mary Beth in putting together her portion in a TLA panel discussion on training programs in libraries.

The Brown Bag Committee (Laura Power, Elaine Goleski and Lisa Barksdale) arranged a brown bag at the Education Library on the UTK distance MLS program. It was decided in the committee that we should try to have a brown bag once a month and hold them in various libraries to promote visits to all libraries.

Since all of the "Alphabet Soup" workshops are filled through November, we will pursue an in-house program with the ODC.

Merry Balthrop agreed to join the Soaring to Excellence committee. Other members are Gretchen Dodge and Laura Power.
