Staff Development Coordinating Committee

December 1998 Meetings Summary

The main objective this month was to find suitable paper on which to have the Acorn Notes printed. Kinko's only carries the paper we want seasonally, so we will look further or make our own design.

Laura reported that porcelain acorns are available from Royal Dutch for $15 each. It was decided that we order two dozen, and we will ask for a discount.

We purchased two CD's: Word '97 (Intermediate) and Excel '97 (Intermediate). They will be added to the resource library of the SDCC. There was discussion about how these should be checked out and who should be responsible for overseeing their circulation. Currently there is a loan period of one month for all materials, and they are checked out on the honor system. If this gets to be too much for Administration to handle, we may move the collection elsewhere. It was suggested that a policy for check out be posted and that a table of contents be composed for the Web and for the shelves themselves.

Gail updated and distributed the supervisor's checklist she has been working on, and she asked for suggestions at the next meeting. Meetings held, Oct. 1, 6, 13, 2
