- In acquisitions, an order for a specific title
placed with a vendor.
- FOLIO
- Designation of materials larger than oversize.
- FRENCH COLLECTIONS
- A collection of materials in French including
the W.T. Bandy Center for Baudelaire Studies on French Poet Charles Baudelaire,
the Pia Collection on French literary critic Pascal Pia, and the Sigaux
Collection on Gilbert Sigaux, French theater critic.
- FTE
- Full-time equivalent based on a 40 hour week.
- FTP
- File Transfer Protocol; a standard for moving files from one
computer to another. A user on one host can access and transfer files to
and from another host. FTP is also the name of the program the user invokes
to execute the protocol.
- FUGITIVES
- A group of sixteen poets and critics who met in
Nashville in the early 1920's and published "The Fugitive" from 1922 - 1925. Most
members were faculty or students at Vanderbilt, including America's first
Poet Laureate, Robert Penn Warren.
- FULL-TIME POSITION
- For benefits purposes, any position in the
university that is 30 or more hours per week.
- FWSP
- Federal Work Study Program; a program through which the
federal government pays a portion of the student employees' salaries.
